Your data

Privacy policy

What we collect, why, and the rights you have over it.

Last updated: 21 October 2026

Who we are

SA Detailing is a mobile car valeting and detailing business based in South County Dublin, Ireland. We decide how and why the personal data described here is used, which makes us its “controller” under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the Irish Data Protection Acts 1988–2018.

You can contact us about anything in this policy:

The short version

  • We only collect what you choose to send us: a booking enquiry, a review, or a message.
  • This website uses no cookies, no analytics and no advertising trackers.
  • We never sell your data or use it for marketing you didn’t ask for.
  • You can ask to see, correct or delete your data at any time.

What we collect and why

Booking enquiries

When you use the booking form, we collect your name, your phone number and/or email address, the package you’re interested in, and your message. If you call, text or email us directly, we receive the details you share there.

We use these details to reply to you, arrange a time and place, and carry out the valet. Our legal basis is that this is necessary to take steps at your request before entering into a contract with you, and then to perform that contract (GDPR Article 6(1)(b)). Once a job is done, we keep the records the law requires us to keep for tax purposes (Article 6(1)(c)).

Reviews written on this website

If you leave a review here, we collect your name, your star rating, your review text and the date. We check every review before it appears. Approved reviews are shown on our Reviews page with the name you gave.

Our legal basis is your consent (Article 6(1)(a)). You give it by submitting a review, knowing it will be published. You can withdraw that consent at any time by asking us to remove your review. When a review is submitted, we may send ourselves an email containing it, so we know to check it.

Reviews on Google

If you choose “Review us on Google”, you leave this website and post your review through your own Google account. Google decides how that review and your account information are handled, under Google’s privacy policy. Reviews on Google are public, and we can read and reply to them.

Technical data

When you visit this website or send a form, the services that run it automatically process technical data such as your IP address, browser type and the time of the request. That includes our host (Netlify), our form service (Web3Forms) when you send a form, and our review service (Supabase) when the Reviews page loads or you leave a review there. This is needed to deliver pages, send your form and keep the site secure. Our legal basis is our legitimate interest in running a working, secure website (Article 6(1)(f)). We don’t use this data to identify or profile you.

Cookies and tracking

This website sets no cookies and stores nothing on your device. It has no analytics, no advertising tags and no social media plug-ins. Fonts, images and videos are all served from our own site. The one exception is the Reviews page: it fetches approved reviews from our review service (Supabase) when it loads, so Supabase receives technical data such as your IP address in order to send them.

Links to Instagram, TikTok and Google take you to those services, and their own privacy policies apply once you’re there. If we ever add cookies or analytics, we’ll update this policy and ask for your consent first where the law requires it.

Who we share your data with

We use a small number of service providers to run the website. They handle personal data only to provide their service to us:

  • Netlify, Inc. (United States) hosts this website.
  • Web3Forms, run by Web3Creative (India), delivers booking enquiries and new-review notifications to our email inbox. Under its own retention schedule it keeps a copy of each submission for up to three years, unless we delete it sooner. It also keeps server logs for a short time.
  • Google provides our email inbox, where enquiries arrive.
  • Supabase stores reviews written on this website, in a database located in Ireland.

We don’t sell or rent your data, and we don’t share it with anyone else unless the law requires us to.

Transfers outside the EU

Some of these providers are based in, or process data in, countries outside the European Economic Area. Each of those transfers is protected as follows:

  • Netlify (United States): the EU-US Data Privacy Framework, which the European Commission has found provides adequate protection, and the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses.
  • Google (United States): the EU-US Data Privacy Framework and Standard Contractual Clauses.
  • Supabase: reviews are stored in Ireland. Where Supabase’s staff or sub-processors access them from outside the EEA (for example the United States or Singapore), Standard Contractual Clauses apply.
  • Web3Forms (India, with infrastructure in several regions): Standard Contractual Clauses, as set out in its Data Processing Agreement.

To get a copy of these safeguards, contact us using the details at the top of this page.

How long we keep it

  • Enquiries that don’t lead to a booking: deleted within 12 months of our last contact with you. Web3Forms’ own copy is deleted under its schedule (see above).
  • Customer records: kept for six years after the job, because Irish tax law requires businesses to keep their records for that long.
  • Reviews written on this website: kept while they’re published, and removed when you ask. Reviews we decide not to publish are deleted.
  • Technical logs: kept by our providers for limited periods only.

Your rights

Under the GDPR you have the right to:

  • get a copy of the personal data we hold about you
  • have inaccurate data corrected
  • have your data deleted
  • restrict or object to how we use it
  • receive data you gave us in a portable format
  • withdraw your consent at any time. This doesn’t affect anything we did with your consent before you withdrew it.

To use any of these rights, contact us using the details above. It’s free, and we’ll reply within one month.

Making a complaint

If you’re unhappy with how we’ve handled your data, please tell us first and we’ll do our best to put it right. You also have the right to complain to Ireland’s data protection authority:

Children

Our services are for vehicle owners, and this website isn’t aimed at children. We don’t knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 16.

Automated decisions

We don’t make any decisions about you by automated means, and we don’t profile you.

Keeping your data safe

The website is served only over an encrypted (HTTPS) connection. Only we can access booking enquiries and unpublished reviews, and our review database refuses public access.

Changes to this policy

If we change how we handle personal data, we’ll update this page and the date at the top.
